About us
Istanbul Restaurant is a Turkish charcoal grill on the main road through Blaby. Everything from the grill is cooked to order over coals — the shish, the kofte, the wings, the chops — and the meze are made fresh in the kitchen.
The grill
Charcoal is the whole point of the place. Lamb and chicken shish, adana kofte, ribs and chops go straight over the coals, and come out with the colour and the smoke you only get that way. Nothing is cooked before it is ordered.
Alongside the grill there are cold and hot meze to start, yoghurt kebabs, sea bass and salmon, salads, wraps, and a proper vegetarian section — the veggie kebab, falafel and the meze are all made without meat.
Eat in, take away, or we deliver
The dining room is open seven days a week from twelve noon until eleven at night, and the kitchen takes its last orders at half past ten. You can book a table, collect your order, or have it delivered anywhere within three miles for a flat £2.
